Ahead of the match between India and South Africa, former India and RCB captain, Virat Kohli reunited with his IPL teammate and South Africa great AB de Villiers at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The duo, who have shared some moments to cherish both on and off the field were once again under limelight as the former Proteas great shared a tight hug with Kohli in his 35th birthday.

Earlier, while wishing him on X, AB de Villiers assured Kohli of giving a hug on his birthday, which the former fulfilled making a surprise appearance on the ground before the match began earlier in the day in Kolkata. ABD in a post on X which had a video message, captioned it, “Happy Birthday Brother @imVkohli”.
However, in the videos going viral on social media, the two shared a hug on the field and were seen chatting for a few minutes.
Meanwhile talking of the match between India and South Africa, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. While Rohit Sharma gave a good start up the order, scoring crucial 40 runs, before departing. The side also lost Shubman Gill inside 100 runs with Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli building on to put 225-runs on the board.
