Sri Lanka defeated India by 16 runs in 2nd T20I and levelled the T20I series 1-1 as they posted a big total of 206/6 with the help of brilliant performance from skipper Dasun Shanaka, Charith Asalanka and opening batsman Kusal Mendis. India lost the plot in 1st innings of the match due to bowling many no-balls with Arshdeep Singh alone bowling 5 of them.
India in the run-chase at one stage were struggling at 57/5 and it looked like an easy win for the Lankan team until a brilliant 91-run partnership came from Suryakumar Yadav-Axar Patel. Shivam Mavi's cameo off 26 runs from 15 balls also helped India to fight till the last over of game but unfortunately all their efforts went in vain and ultimately the outcome of this series has come down to the final T20I game.
