Australia registered a dominant 190-run win in the 3rd ODI to complete a w hitewash over India in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. After pulling out a thrilling triumph in the second fixture, the Southern Stars came out to bat with confidence as openers Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Lichfield looked in top form.
Captain Healy, after struggling in the first two games, showed off her incredible stroke-making to complete her first half-century of this ODI series. Whereas her partner, Phoebe Lichfield continued her stellar form and went on to score a towering ton. The duo also created history by putting up the highest opening stand of 182 runs in women's ODIs.
Healy got out at 82 in 85 balls with four fours and three sixes while Lichfield completed her second ODI century before getting out at 119 in 125 balls with 16 fours and one six. On the back of this massive opening partnership, lower-order Australian batters played crucial cameos to post a humongous total of 338 runs at the loss of seven wickets.
Like the first innings, the Women in Blue continued their struggles with the bat and got off to a poor start after losing the opener Yastika Bhatia when the total was 32. After this wicket, Team India managed to stitch a few short partnerships but struggled to get going and fell well behind the run-rate.
Georgia Wareham's three-wicket haul alongside Megan Schutt, Alana King and Annabel Sutherland picking up two wickets each, Australia zoomed forward to register a massive 190-run victory. With this win, the Southern Stars also clinched their ninth-straight bilateral ODI series win over the Women in Blue.
