After winning the T20I series, Indian Women’s team come out victorious in the ODI series as well as the Women in Blue won the second ODI against West Indies Women by 115 runs at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Batting first, India posted a mammoth 358/5 in their 50 overs with Harleen Deol scoring her maiden international ton. In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 243 runs in 46.2 overs as India Women took an unassailable lead of 2-0 in a three-match series. 

Coming to bat after winning the toss, India Women got a flying start as Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put up an opening partnership of 110 runs in 16.3 overs. Mandhana got out after scoring 53(47) runs with seven fours and two sixes, while Rawal went on to score her maiden half-century amassing 76(86) runs hitting 10 fours and a maximum. After that, Harleen Deol took charge of the innings as she top scored with 115 runs off 103 balls hitting 16 boundaries, while Jemimah Rodrigues also scored 52(36) as India crossed 350 runs.

Hayley Matthews’ captain’s knock goes vain as India Women clinch ODI series 

Chasing the winning total, West Indies Women skipper and opening batter Hayley Matthews played a captain’s knock of 106 runs off 109 balls with 13 boundaries. However, she didn’t get much support from the other end as West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 243 runs in 46.2 overs. 

For India Women, Priya Mishra took three wickets by conceding 49 runs in 9.2 overs. Apart from that, Deepti Sharma, Titas Sadhu and Pratika Rawal scalped 2 wickets each while Renuka Singh Thakur put one in her bag. The third and the final ODI will be played at same ground on December 27.
