Just a day before the arch-rivals India and Pakistan take the field against each other in Asia Cup 2023, they are reportedly set for a joint practice session at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on September 1, Friday. These two cricketing nations are set to play their first ODI in four years, after their memorable ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
The joint practice session is expected to happen under the floodlights later today, as per the report from the Sports Today correspondent on YouTube, from the city of Kandy. The weather around the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium could be rainy, which might cause a hiccup or two, for it to commence on time.

Before the joint practice session begins, the captains Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam are scheduled to attend a press conference. There is a possibility of a playing XI announcement, especially from the Pakistan captain, who had done the same against Nepal a day prior in this ongoing continental cricketing spectacle.
Then, on September 2, Saturday, in front of a packed stadium in Kandy, India will be looking to start their Asia Cup 2023 campaign on a winning note against Pakistan. The Men in Green have already won their first match of the tournament in Multan on August 30, against Nepal with a thumping margin of 238 runs, to lay down the marker for the rest of the teams to follow.
