India, the former two-time world champions are going to take part in their fourth home ODI World Cup this year. The 2023 edition of the prestigious tournament will be played across all the major cities in the Indian peninsula.
As one of the only seven teams to participate in all 12 previous ODI World Cups, India will be looking to make their 13th appearance in the cricketing spectacle a memorable one. The hosts are currently under pressure from their fans and experts, who want the Indian cricket team to win their first ICC trophy in over a decade.
Talking about the recent form of Team India in the World Cup, they have two back-to-back semi-finals. During the 2019 edition in England & Wales, they topped the group stage with seven wins and one loss in nine matches, but they lost in the semis to New Zealand in a pulsating encounter.
Hosts, India are going to begin their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on October 8 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Meanwhile, the biggest group stage match for the Indians will be against Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad.
