Indian men's doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were defeated by Sou th Korea's Min Hyuk Kang and Seung Jae Seo in the final of the India Open 2024. Nicknamed SatChi, the World number 2 pair had to settle for a 21-15 11-21 18-21 result at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
With this result, SatChi has had a positive start to their 2024 campaign as they finished runners-up in the recently concluded Malaysia Open against Chinese pair Wang Chang and Liang Weikeng. Coming back to the match, Rankireddy and Shetty got off to a stunning start to clinch the opening set 21-15.

The South Korean pair showed some resistance ahead of the break with the scores set at 11-9 after which the Indian zoomed forward to clinch the win. But Kang and Seo rocked back with a dominant effort in Set 2 as they registered a blowout 21-11 win. The South Koreans were ahead of their Indian counterpart at every step of the way as they led 5-11 and then clinched a breezing win.
With both teams getting a win under their belt, the deciding set was full action with constant back-and-forth action. As the scores were tied through the early moments of the set, the South Korean pair managed a slender lead which eventually pushed them forward. Kang-Seo persevered through despite some aggressive play by Rankireddy and Shetty to win the tournament.
