The International Cricket Council (ICC), has confirmed the schedule of the T20 World Cup 2024, a biennial tournament on the international cricketing calendar, which will be played in the Caribbean and the USA this summer. The marquee contest in the group stages will feature India taking on Pakistan in Group A on June 9 in New York.
The new format for the T20 World Cup in 2024 is set to have 20 teams competing against each other for the coveted trophy. They are divided into four groups of five teams each, with only the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Eight stage of the tournament, which will lead to the semi-final and final round.

In the Group A of the T20 World Cup 2024, India are pitted against their arch-rivals Pakistan, the USA, Canada, and Ireland, while the Group B will have the old enemies England and Australia with Namibia, Scotland, and Oman. Two of the toughest groups in the competition includes Group C boasting multi-time champions West Indies drawn alongside New Zealand, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda, while Group D has teams like South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Nepal.
Moreover, the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between the neighbours USA and Canada on June 1, while the final of the competition is set to go down in Barbados on June 29. England and Australia will take on each other in one of the other top group-stage clashes in Barbados on June 8.
