Preview

Bangladesh have already won the series having won the first two matches. The Litton Das-led team beat India by one wicket and five runs in the first and second ODI respectively. Now, with only one game left in the series, Bangladesh will look for a clean sweep and script history. Meanwhile, India will desperately want a win to end things on a high. However, the Men in Blue are expected to be without their regular captain, Rohit Sharma, who is out with a thumb injury.

Pitch Report

The Chattogram stadium pitch has traditionally been spin-friendly and expect the same during the third ODI between Bangladesh and India on Saturday. The average score across the 23 completed ODIs at this venue since the year 2006 stands at 233 runs, with innings total above the 300-run mark breached merely twice to date.

Team Analysis

India

India have been stunned by Bangladesh twice and they have themselves to blame for the two losses. While the Men in Blue failed to cramp Bangladesh after the hosts lost nine wickets in the first match, India could not seal the deal with the bat in the second ODI. Nevertheless, with one game still left, the Men in Blue would hope for a win. But for that, India’s top guns need to fire. Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and KL Rahul will need to put up big runs and lead the fight against the Tigers. Meanwhile, India need to work on their bowling in the middle overs where they have failed to take wickets.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh have been brave and gritty to have pulled off two magnificent wins against a top-class team like India. Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been the standout player for the Tigers. The all-rounder has done everything possible to make things tough for the opposition. While Miraz formed a partnership with Mustafizur Rahman to win the game for Bangladesh in the first ODI, he joined hands with Mahmudullah to haunt India in the 2nd match. Bangladesh’s bowling, especially Ebadot Hossain has been exceptional. The pacer has taken seven wickets so far in two games. But the top order not firing and the middle order collapsing too often can be a worry for the Tigers.
