Former India cricketer MS Dhoni might have retired from international cricket but continues to ply his trade in the Indian Premier League for the Chennai Super Kings. The stalwart of the game, who took India to three ICC title triumphs in his international career spanning 15 years, Team India’s shocking defeat against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semifinals is still talked about.

M S Dhoni, during a recent event in Bengaluru talked about former India batting coach, Sanjay Bangar’s revelation on players shedding tears on this semifinal loss and getting knocked out of the marquee tournament. While addressing a massive gathering, Dhoni said it is hard to control emotions in such edge of the seat contest.
While adding that he had plans ready as he knew it was his last for India, Dhoni revealed that he went to the trainer to hand over the gadgets but he returned, saying “just keep it”. “We were given some gadget from trainer and every time I went to him, I handed those gadgets back but he was like, ‘No no, you keep it’. And I thought, how should I tell him that it wasn’t need anymore, because I didn’t want to announce then,” Dhoni revealed.
“When you are high on emotions and the only thing you have done in last 12-15 years is playing cricket, and then there’s no more chance of representing your country. It’s thing with sportsperons”, he further added.
It is to be noted that almost a year later on August 15, 2020, MS Dhoni took to Instagram to make the official announcement to retire from international cricket. “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” he captioned his post.
