The runners-up of the previous edition, Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained their best five players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The five retentions of SRH included skipper Pat Cummins, Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Talking about Pat Cummins, the Australian skipper was picked for a whopping ₹20.50 Crore in the IPL 2024. 

Under Pat Cummins’ captaincy, SRH qualified for the final after six years in 2024, making him one of the top retention for the franchise ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. However, his salary has been reduced from ₹20.50 Crore to ₹18 Crore. The Australian skipper had a great time as a captain from the last one year, leading Australia to the World Test Championship title and ODI World Cup title in 2023. Apart from that, he also led SRH to the final of IPL 2024, before they lost against Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Pat Cummins’ IPL salary breakdown

Pat Cummins made his IPL debut in 2014 after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) picked him for ₹1 Crore in the auction. He was released from the franchise after two years and was sold Delhi Capitals for ₹4.5 Crore ahead of IPL 2017. Cummins was back in KKR again ahead of IPL 2020 for a whopping ₹15.5 Crore. After a couple of years, he appeared again during the IPL 2024 auction post Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup win and got a whopping ₹20.50 Crore from SRH. Pat Cummins has played 58 matches in his IPL career so far, taking 63 wickets at an average of 30.52.  

Talking about his salary, Pat Cummins will now get ₹18 Crore for the entire season of IPL 2025. The Australian pacer will spearhead SRH and is likely to complete his quota of four overs in every game. With 24 balls per match and 14 matches in the league stage, Cummins is likely to bowl a total number of 336 ball during the league stage in IPL 2025. If we breakdown his salary according to this formula, Pat Cummins will get ₹5,53,714 for a single ball in IPL 2025.
