India are set to kickstart their long Test season with a two-match  series against Bangladesh, beginning on September 19. Only a few hours are left for the first Test between India and Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India have been an invincible Test side at home in the last decade or so, not losing a Test series on their own patch since 2012. However, Bangladesh are also coming after a 2-0 Test series win in Pakistan, and cannot be taken lightly. The upcoming Test season will be crucial to where India will eventually stand in the race to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord's in England next year.

Rohit Sharma and his men need to win at least five matches out of the 10 upcoming Tests to qualify for their third consecutive WTC final. India have a dominant record against Bangladesh, and are yet to lose a match against them in the longest format.
