The Indian women's cricket team is gearing up for the highly anticipated ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to be played from October 3 in the UAE. Ahead of the marquee tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 10-day training camp for the Women in Blue, which will be held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
Notably, the camp, which will run from September 10, will be led by head coach Amol Muzumdar and aims to prepare the squad for the tournament, starting on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). All players, who have been named in the squad, will undergo intense training, with Yastika Bhatia and Shreyanka Patil joining after clearing their fitness tests.

Notably, the camp is said to help all 15 squad members along with the reserves sharpen their skills and get ready for the World Cup. Moreover, Bhatia who is recovering from a knee injury sustained during the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh earlier this year, and Patil, who is healing from a fractured finger suffered during the Asia Cup opener against Pakistan, will also join the side at NCA as both have received fitness clearance and signed the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to participate.
After the camp, the players will get a four-day break to visit their families. They will then assemble in Mumbai on September 24 before traveling to the UAE. In Dubai, they will play two warm-up matches against the West Indies on September 29 and South Africa on October 1 respectively before kickstarting their campaign on October 4.
