One of India’s two representatives GodLike Esports made it to the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2023 semifinals. The Indian team delivered a brilliant performance during the Swiss Stage and reserved their berth in the next one. GodLike Esports were placed in the fourth position of the points table during the Swiss Stage with a 3-1 scoreline. The team had come off a defeat against Kagendra and was followed by three consecutive victories against Kingsclan, Exclusive, and TLE Esports.
While GodLike have got one step closer to the coveted title, another Indian team, Team Vitality, failed to secure themselves a spot in the knockout stage. Vitality weren’t able to win even one game and booked the last-place finish in the standings with a 0-3 performance. Talking of GodLike Esports, they became the first seed COD Indian team to qualify for the tournament after winning the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 - India in July 2023.
The team delivered a notable performance in the qualifier by winning all of their games and in the quarterfinals, they locked horns with Stand Point Gaming from China. The Chinese team finished third during the Swiss Stage. The clash took place on December 16, when the Indian team won by 3-0.
In the semifinals of CODM World Championship 2023, Team GodLike is set to lock horns with Luminosity Gaming. The North American team has been going strong in the tournament and hasn’t lost any of their matchups. The semifinal match between GodLike and Luminosity will take place at 10:30 PM IST on December 17, Sunday.
