India will take on Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team management gave the responsibility of captaincy to Suryakumar Yadav following the retirement of Rohit Sharma, and he started his leadership tenure with a 3-0 win in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in away conditions.
With that, the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh might not be a tough contest on paper for Suryakumar Yadav-led India, but they have to bring their A game to the fore to get the better of the ever-improving neighbours. Sanju Samson, the wicket-keeper batter, who was the part of the T20 World Cup 2024 winning team, has played five matches in the format since then, scoring a fifty against Zimbabwe before getting two consecutive ducks in the opening slot in the series against Sri Lanka.
