Preview

After facing another heartbreak against their nemesis Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last game, Mumbai Indians will drag themselves for their game against Lucknow Super Giants. During their last meet, LSG came out victorious. However, the KL Rahul-led team have also lost their last game against RCB. So, it will be interesting to see if Mumbai can revive themselves or Lucknow walk away with another victory.

Pitch Report

The last game at Wankhede Stadium was a run-fest. A total of 429 runs were scored in the match. But usually, the Wankhede Pitch has been tougher to bat on as compared to the other IPL 2022 venues. For the LSG vs MI clash, the pitch is expected to be on the slower side. Bowlers, especially pacers may get a role to play.

Team Analysis

Lucknow Super Giants

The KL Rahul-led team has made entry into the Indian Premier League (IPL) in some style. With half of the league stage games done, Lucknow have won four of them. They have defeated Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The team has looked good with almost everyone standing up for their respective roles. However, there are also a few concerns to be addressed. Manish Pandey's place in the XI and Marcus Stoinis' batting position need a rethink from the management. In the bowling department, Ravi Bishnoi has been hot and cold which is not a good sign for LSG.

SportsTiger Playing XI of Lucknow

KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Manan Vohra, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan

Mumbai Indians

There is not much to discuss about Mumbai Indians. The five-time champions have looked helpless this season. They are finding ways to lose a game. In their last game against Chennai, MI had the best chance to win their first game of the season but they could not. However, the captain can take that game as their best performance so far in the tournament, in terms of coming close to winning a game. The top order is not performing at all. 2-3 players are being asked to carry the responsibility in all games. There are not many amends to be made. MI will just hope to pull it off this time.

Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hrithik Shokeen, Kieron Pollard, Jaydev Unadkat, Jasprit Bumrah, Daniel Sams, Riley Meredith

Match Prediction

Conclusion

Mumbai will just hope for a win but Lucknow are ahead of them statistically. So, the favourite for Match 37 is Lucknow Super Giants.
