Preview
In match 49 of IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be up against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). After facing three back-to-back defeats, Faf du Plessis-led side will be desperate for a win to keep their playoff chances alive. On the other hand, CSK will be hoping for a big win to boost their net run rate apart from earning two crucial points. With MS Dhoni back in command, CSK have the faith to do the undoable. For RCB, a good performance from the batters will be the key.
Pitch Report
The MCA Stadium pitch is tiring down with the tournament reaching its fag end. Despite that, batters will enjoy batting on this surface. For bowlers, especially pacers, there will be some help early in the innings.
Team Analysis
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB have suddenly found multiple issues to resolve after looking good in the initial stages of the tournament. Their batting looks weak with key players not performing. Although Virat Kohli got a half-century in the last game against GT, it was not a convincing one. Faf du Plessis has also blown hot and cold this season. Rajat Patidar showed some promise at No.3 but the rest of the batters need to finish things up nicely. In the bowling department, there is not much to correct but du Plessis will expect some extra effort when RCB face CSK.
SportsTiger Playing XI of RCB
Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Mahipal Lomror, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood
Chennai Super Kings
Chennai have found their mojo back to an extent. Also, with MS Dhoni back at the helm, CSK are looking a much better unit. Ruturaj Gaikwad also fired in CSK's last game. The bowling and fielding, however, were not up to the mark which Dhoni would like his team to work on. CSK don't have much to lose which makes them an even more dangerous side. Shivam Dube and Dwayne Bravo missed the last game due to injuries. They will walk straight back into the eleven if they are deemed fit.
SportsTiger Playing XI of CSK
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorious, Mukesh Choudhary, Maheesh Theekshana
Conclusion
CSK have the numbers in their favor and thus they remain the favourite to win Wednesday's clash.
