Kolkata Knight Riders will take on SunRisers Hyderabad in the evening game of the first double header of the IPL 2024 on Saturday, March 23, at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The clash will see the two most expensive Australian stalwarts, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc squaring off against each other.
The Shah-Rukh Khan-owned side went all bonkers on the World Cup-winning bowler Mitchell Starc as the southpaw became the highest-ever bid of INR 24.75 crores in the IPL auction in Dubai. Apart from him, they have focused on strengthening their batting unit by including Phil Salt, Manish Pandey, and Sherfane Rutherford.
SunRisers Hyderabad have included some overseas stars in the squad, which includes their new skipper Pat Cummins, for whom they splurged a whopping 20.5 crores. Along with them, they have also included WTC and World Cup final centurion Travis Head to augment their batting order.
