With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 scheduled to commence in less than a week’s time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is speculated to announce the roster for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) soon . As per recent reports, the 2024 edition of IPL is likely to commence from March 22 or 23, however, the confirmation around it is still awaited.
But as per reports, the IPL 2024 schedule is likely to be announced ahead of February 23. Furthermore, SportsTiger sources have confirmed that the schedule will be announced in two phases due to the general elections, set to take place this summer.
If reports are to be further believed, the tournament will run from March 22 till May 26, which is just five days before the commencement of the T20 World Cup 2024. However, the confirmation on the same is likely to come in a few days’ time as soon as the election dates are announced.
Speaking of IPL 2024, the tournament will see a total of 74 matches being played, including three playoffs and a final. The tournament will see the 10 teams contest for four playoffs spots with MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings defending their title.
