The Royal Challengers Bangalore could face a massive problem regarding their home games, ahead of t he 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. As per the IPL 2024 phase 1 schedule, RCB will play Chennai Super Kings in the season opener in Chennai's M.A. Chidambaram stadium.
Then the Royal Challengers are slated to play three home games against Punjab Kings (March 25), Kolkata Knight Riders (March 29) and Lucknow Super Giants (April 2) before travelling to Jaipur to take on the Rajasthan Royals on April 6. But with the city of Bengaluru dealing with a huge water crisis, RCB's home games could be under threat. As per Insidesport, The Karnataka State Cricket Association is planning a meeting to address the issue. “There will be a meeting conducted on this issue. Until then, no statement can be given regarding that matter,” the KSCA official was quoted by InsideSport.
Further, reports claim that the water crisis could force RCB's home games out of Bengaluru with Pune and Vizag emerging as possible venues. The home games are slated to be moved as the local government could deny an NOC, citing the water crisis.
