On Tuesday, November 5, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the updated details around the upcoming  Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction . After reports surfaced stating  Riyadh set to host the mega auction , the speculations were put to rest after the BCCI confirmed Jeddah as the venue for the two-day auction, set to take place on November 24 and 25 this year. 

While a total of 1,574 players have registered for the mega auction, out of which 1,165 are Indians whereas 409 are overseas. However, around only 200 players will get a team ahead of the IPL 2025, out of the 1,165 players, 23 Indians have registered themselves under the highest bracket, which is INR 2 Crore.

The Indian captains, who led their respective franchises in IPL 2024 have put themselves in the INR 2 Crore bracket, including star Indian wicketkeeper-batter  Rishabh Pant , captain of the defending champions  KKR, Shreyas IyerLSG skipper KL Rahul  among a few others. If we further bifurcate, Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal are the two batters to put their name in the highest price bracket.

Joining them from the all-rounders are Venkatesh Iyer, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul thakur and R Ashwin. Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are the only three wicketkeeper-batters to find themselves in this category. The major chunk of the Indian players in this category includes the bowlers like Mohammed Shami, Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natrajan, Prasidh Krishna, and others.
