With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announcing the retained list of players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) went on to retain just three players from their squad of IPL 2024. While the franchise entrusted in Virat Kohli, retaining him for a sum of INR 21 Crore, Rajat Patidar (INR 11 Crore) and Yash Dayal (INR 11 Crore) were the other two players to be retained.
However, Kohli was the first choice as they are looking to hand over the captaincy once again while the franchise search for their maiden IPL title, they will even be looking to rope in the best talent, along with the option of Right To Match (RTM) card available to them. Moreover, the franchise will look to build a strong bowling as well as overseas lineup after a dismal outing last season.

With that, the Bengaluru-based franchise spent INR 37 Crore out of their INR 120 Crore purse for retaining three players ahead of the IPL 2025 season. It would mean that they will have INR 83 Crore to spend to get the best of the talent in the mega auction, to build their squad for the next year.
