Just a day before the highly anticipated IPL Auction 2024, Mike Hesson of the Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to successfully bid on Mitchell Starc during a mock auction for a whopping price of ₹18.50 crore. The official streaming partner of the IPL, JioCinema, is organising the mock auction on their platform, wherein former cricketers and coaches.

The left-arm fast bowler from Australia, Mitchell Starc, who hasn’t been a part of the IPL since his days with the RCB nearly a decade ago, attracted the highest bid in the mock auction from Mike Hesson, the former coach of the franchise. The 33-year-old is one of the most successful cricketers in the world in all formats of the game in recent years for Australia, and he will be looking to bring that experience to a team in the IPL which manages to secure his services in the auction tomorrow.

Parthiv Patel gets Gerarld Coetzee for Gujarat Titans with ₹18 crore bid
Gerald Coetzee wasn’t far behind Mitchell Starc in attracting huge sums of money in the IPL Mock Auction after taking giant strides in South African colours in a few months. Parthiv Patel, the former Indian cricketer, was able to put together a successful bid of ₹18 crore to bring Gerald Coetzee to Gujarat Titans in the mock auction after the right-arm fast bowler impressed one and all in the ODI World Cup a month ago.
Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan, the former England ODI World Cup winning captain, got a successful bid on the current Australian captain Pat Cummins to bring him to Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹17.50 crore in the mock auction. Also, as of this writing, the highest successful bid on an Indian player in the mock auction was ₹14 crore on Shardul Thakur, who went to Punjab Kings courtesy of Abhinav Mukund.
