Team India continued their dominant performance against Ireland in the ongoing three-match T20I series as Jasprit Bumrah-led side won the second T20I by 33 runs on Sunday. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, and Rinku Singh starred in the Men in Blue's victory while the bowling department also displayed a formidable performance to help India clinch the series.
Ireland winning the toss decided to bowl first and Team India registered a huge total of 185 runs with a loss of five wickets as Ruturaj Gaikwad (58) scored his second T20I half-century in his 10th appearance while Sanju Samson (40), and Rinku Singh (38) scored runs at a staggering pace in the middle order.
Barry McCarthy was the most successful bowler for Ireland as he picked up two wickets while Mark Adair, Craig Young, and Benjamin White picked one wicket each for Ireland. During the hosts' innings, opener Andrew Balbirnie held one end of the pitch as he scored 71 off 52 balls, however, he lacked support from his teammates as six Irish players went out on a single-digit score.
Ireland managed 152 runs after 20 overs with a loss of eight wickets as Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each while Arshdeep Singh dismissed dangerous Andrew Balbirnie.
Indian bowlers dominated the Irish batsmen as they kept the pressure on the batters despite Balbirnie holding the crease at one end. Team India won the first game, which was affected by rain, by two runs through the DLS method and the victory on Sunday helped India to clinch the three-match T20I series.
