With the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just round the corner, fans are excited as well as saddened to see MS Dhoni back on the field for one last time. While the former Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings skipper will take the field for the first time after clinching the title last year in a rain-affected match.

But apart from his return on the cricket field after an extended period, will he continue to feature in the tournament, is the biggest question. Speaking ahead of the IPL 2024, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan was asked if 2024 edition would be last for MS Dhoni. The former Indian cricketer gave an MSD-like response, stating, “Definitely not.”

Speaking of MS Dhoni’s update off late, Irfan told Star Sports, “I met him about a month ago. He had long hair, he is growing his hair. He is going back to the old time and looking supremely fit. For a guy, who is past 40 and still looking so fit. I really hope for his sake, for his franchise’s sake and all the fans’ sake, he continues to play.”

MS Dhoni is the only player to record 250 appearances in the cash-rich league. Pathan further added, “even if Mahendra Singh Dhoni plays on one leg, people would still like to see him play. If this is his last season, I really want him to go on a high. He will never go out of IPL. He will never go out of CSK. CSK is Dhoni. There’s no difference.”

IPL 2024 is likely to start from March 22,2024. As per reports, the IPL 2024 is anticipated to commence in just a weeks’ time after the conclusion of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024.
