Mumbai Indians’ veteran batter Suryakumar Yadav shared a special message as Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant made his cricketing comeback after more than a year. Pant met with a fatal accident in December 2022, which kept him out of action for a long period. However, the youngster displayed resilience and hard work to return to action to lead his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals in the 2024 season of the tournament.
Capitals began their campaign by clashing against Punjab Kings on March 23 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Mullanpur. The wicketkeeper-batter of the Capitals came to bat for the side at the fourth spot and as soon as he stepped onto the field, he received a loud cheer from the fans present at the stadium. Yadav shared a special message for his India teammate and said that his story is more inspirational than any movie.
Sharing the clip on social media, SKY wrote, “Moment we all have been waiting for. Inspirational movies bahut dekhi hain par iss real life story ka koi tod nai. Earlier in the match, Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and invited the rivals to bat first.
Speaking during the toss, Pant said, "The wicket looks a little on the slower side. Really emotional time for me. Just want to enjoy the moment. Not thinking much. I think not worried about last season. Really exciting times. We have been preparing well." Pant scored 18 runs off 13 deliveries combined with two boundaries.
