On being asked the reason behind it, the Nigeria-born Kiwi replied sarcastically, leaving the crowd crazy. Replying to a journalist, he said, "I'm a dog. It's a dog collar, and it's about to be unleashed." Just as he answered, the crowd went crazy bursting into laughter, and barking in unison to back the fighter up.
Reportedly, the dog collar he was wearing to the conference was inspired by the legendary Chinese actor Jet Li’s movie 'Unleashed' (2005). It was confirmed by the MMA fighter himself on his Twitter as he posted the reason. In the movie, the main character, Danny (played by Jet Li) wears a dog collar around his neck, and once unleashed becomes a skilled fighter.
With two days remaining for the UFC’s Miami return, the fighters sat down for a press conference. Adesanya, despite losing to his arch-rival Alex Pereria on three different occasions, two in kickboxing and one in MMA, is booming with confidence. The upcoming event, which will be the fourth combat between the fighters, will take place on the weekend at the Miami-Dade Arena in Florida.
