Replying to him, the 34-year-old cricketer said that he has always enjoyed playing the game in India. Not only this, but the Aussie also said that playing in the Indian atmosphere adds value to the shots. Smith said, “It’s great. Love the atmosphere that the grounds in India provide. Smith added, “As a batter particularly, it adds great value to your shots on most grounds, and yes, it's great to play.” Smith recently became the second-fastest player in the history of Test cricket to reach 9000 runs. The Aussie batter achieved this milestone in 174 innings, which is just two innings more than the ex-Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara, who took 172 innings to achieve the feat.
In addition to this, Smith achieved another significant milestone by playing his 100th Test during the third Ashes Test that took place at Headingley, Leeds.
