Pakistan Cricket Board announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, next month. The squad announcement saw the return of Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi after regaining fitness from a knee injury, while experienced top-order batter Fakhar Zaman slipped to the reserves list.

The squad for the marquee tournament brought mixed reaction from the Pakistan cricket fraternity as many expressed their satisfaction with the 15 members squad, while the likes of Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at the selectors for including Fakhar as a reserve player. Meanwhile, experienced all-rounder Imad Wasim, who failed to earn a call for the World Cup posted a cryptic tweet after the squad announcement.

Notably, the bowling all-rounder was part of the T20 World Cup 2021 squad wherein he picked four wickets in six matches. Post the World Cup, Imad was dropped from the national set-up and has not featured for Men in Green in any format.

Imad is currently putting up a great show in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League, having picked 10 wickets in seven matches so far. While Imad was hoping to get a call on the back of his impressive performance in the CPL, the selectors' decision left him amused. In his latest Twitter post, Imad posted an impactful picture with an important message that one must remain happy and positive despite challenging situation. Imad posted the picture with a caption "Stay happy", indicating his approach towards exclusion from the World Cup squad.

Earlier, Imad opened up about his exclusion from Pakistan's plans in an interview with Cricket Pakistan. He expressed his shock over sudden exclusion from the squad and stated that board has not conveyed any apt explanation for leaving him out of the team.

"I have not played a single match since the World Cup. I don’t know the reason behind this to be honest. No justification has been provided to me and reasons given to me, I am unsatisfied with them. But whatever happens, happens because it is Almighty's will," Imad concluded.
