After defeating Nate Diaz in his latest professional boxing fight on August 5, Saturday, the YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has gone back to winning ways in his career. The “Problem Child”, 26, won against the MMA fighter, who was on his pro debut, with a unanimous decision from the judges, who scored the fight 97-92, 98-91, and 98-91.

But, Conor McGregor, one of the opponents for Nate Diaz in the UFC,  wasn’t too pleased with what had transpired at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. He sent out his harshest criticism about the boxing fight, which led to Jake Paul calling the “Notorious One” a selfish, self-centered, salty drug addict.

In a now-deleted tweet, the former multi-division champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, called the bout as “Me watching that garbage last night. Wtf. Piss and shit in a ring,” with a picture of himself taking on Floyd Mayweather Jr. As expected, Jake Paul wasn’t having any of what Conor McGregor had to say, leading to a nasty Twitter exchange between them.

When the Irishman started to delete all of the tweets calling out the Problem Child, he fired back with a tweet of his own, which read, “Good boy deleting your tweets Conny. Hit me once you get out of rehab or jail.”

Jake Paul proceeded to put an exclamation point to the beef with Conor McGregor, with a tweet, which included a prior argument between the two, captioning it, “I see people bent out of shape bc McGregor called me a “wigger”. It’s the fight game. I don’t give a fuck about what a coked out, juiced up, shitty cheap whisky drinking fool says & then deletes. He’s a selfish, self-centered, salty drug addict who hasn’t done anything for other fighters.”

It’s unclear if the aforementioned Twitter exchange between Paul and McGregor will lead to something substantial in the world of combat sports. But, if these two athletes do end up fighting in boxing or MMA, then, it has the potential to break a few records in the sporting world for sure.
