Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden missed the Sixers' media day ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season. Adding to this absence, Harden is also set to miss the early stages of Philly's training camp in Colorado. The former Houston Rockets star has been pushing for a trade throughout the NBA off-season after the Sixers bowed out in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The development was reported by Shams Charnia and Adrian Wojnarowski, who also stated his demands about being traded. Wojnarowski further shared that Harden has been upset with the Sixers for not moving him to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Shams Charnia tweeted, " James Harden is not in Philadelphia for Media Day today as the 10-time All-Star awaits a trade from the 76ers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."
While Adrian Wojnarowski shared, "ESPN Sources: In what’s expected to be a continued attempt to push for a trade, Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden isn’t in attendance for the team’s media day today. Harden remains upset that the organization hasn’t moved him to the Clippers."
Reports also state that Harden will be fined for missing the media day as the Sixers haven't been able to find a trade with the Clippers. Wojnarowski reported, " Harden could be subject to a fine for missing media day."
"The Sixers leave for Colorado later today for several days of training camp at Colorado State University. The Sixers and Clippers have talked recently but there doesn’t appear to be any traction on a trade."
