Indian players Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant were involved in a fun banter in the practice session in Perth ahead of the first Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar (BGT) Test series against Australia. After delivering a few balls to Jasprit Bumrah in the nets, Rishabh Pant claimed that he dismissed the Indian fast bowler before telling everyone on the camera about asking bowling coach Morne Morkel about it.
During an intense practice session in Perth involving the Indian players, the lighthearted interaction between Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant added a playful vibe to the nets ahead of the highly anticipated Test series against Australia down under. Rishabh Pant tried all sorts of tricks with the ball in hand, bowling overpitched deliveries to bouncers, to take the wicket of Jasprit Bumrah.

The video of the interaction between Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah was shared by the Indian cricket team on their official Instagram account, in which the Indian wicket-keeper said, “Jasprit Bumrah ko pel diya hai maine, net pe out kara hai ek wicket mila hai. (Morne) Morkel se puch sakte ho (I've dismissed Jasprit Bumrah and got one wicket. You can ask (Morne) Morkel).”
In response, Jasprit Bumrah fired back at Rishabh Pant’s claim, “His bowling action is illegal. It's not out, it's a four or it's a two, I've connected a pull shot. He thinks he has seven fielders there. He should not be allowed to bowl.” Regardless of their banter in the nets, Bumrah and Pant are two of the biggest keys for India in the upcoming five-match BGT Test series against Australia after playing massive roles in their last two series wins down under.
