The Golden State Warriors defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 119-107 at the Chase Center on Tuesday night in the 2023-24 NBA regular season. During the loss, reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid was seen struggling throughout the game as he looked fatigued, giving rise to speculations over his eligibility for postseason awards like the MVP and All-NBA. However, a recent report claimed that the 76ers center is "not considering" playing through injury to remain fit for the playoffs.

During the Warriors-76ers game on Tuesday night, NBA insider Chris Haynes reported, "Embiid came into this season with two goals - To become the best player in the game and to enter the playoffs healthy." During the Sixers' road game against the Indiana Pacers last Thursday, Embiid played 31 minutes, however, he tweaked his knee during the matchup and missed the next two games.

The 29-year-old Embiid was expected to play against Nikola Jokic's Nuggets on Saturday but was later ruled out after his pregame warmups and missed the 76ers' next game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The 7-foot tall seven-time NBA All-Star, who has already missed 12 games, can miss only five more games to remain eligible for the MVP and All-NBA awards.

Sixers' Joel Embiid exits game against Warriors

The Sixers Big Man played 30 minutes against the Warriors, scoring 14 points with 27.8% shooting from the floor and grabbing seven rebounds. Embiid struggled through the first quarter against the Warriors before heading back to the locker room to get his knee checked out.

In the fourth quarter, Embiid exited the game for a second time after getting tangled up and remaining on the floor in pain for some time. Embiid's knee injury is the major point of concern for the Sixers moving forward.
