England pacer Jofra Archer turned out to be the first buy for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 mega auction, after the franchise roped him in for INR 12.50 Crore. Archer started his IPL career with RR in 2018 and is set to don the pink jersey again in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league.
Jofra Archer wasn’t included in the initial list of the players that were picked to feature in the mega auction. However, the 29-year-old was later added in the final list at a base price of INR 2 Crore. Lucknow Super Giants was the first team to bid for him before they were challenged by Mumbai Indians. After a few moments, LSG backed out and RR joined the bidding war with MI at INR 8.5 Crore. At last, Archer was finally sold to RR for INR 12.50 Crore.

Jofra Archer made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals after the franchise bought him for INR 7.20 Crore ahead of IPL 2018. After four years with RR, He was sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 8 Crore in the IPL 2022 auction. After a couple of years with MI, Archer wasn’t seen playing in IPL 2024 and is now back in the cash-rich league again for the upcoming season. Talking about his IPL salary, Jofra Archer will be seen as a spearhead fast bowler along with Sandeep Sharma for RR in IPL 2025.
Being a main fast bowler, Jofra Archer is likely to bowl four overs in a match, and a total of 336 balls throughout the 14 matches in the league stage. According to this, the fast bowler will earn around INR 3.72 Crore per ball in IPL 2025. However, if RR qualify for the final, Jofra Archer can bowl a maximum of 408 ball in 17 matches. This means that the fast bowler can earn approx INR 3 Lakh per ball in IPL 2025.
