Josh Giddey’s family reportedly believes that the Oklahoma City Thunder’s guard was tricked into an alleged underage girl relationship. Their thoughts have come after the NBA and the Newport Beach Police Department announced last week that they are conducting their separate investigations into the claims of Josh Giddey’s alleged relationship.

The allegations against Josh Giddey came to the surface on the X platform last week when a user shared pictures and videos of the 21-year-old accompanied by an underage girl, claiming her to be a junior in high school. Notably, the social media account of the X user has since been deactivated on the platform.

As per the report from the Daily Mail, a source was quoted as saying, “This kind of situation would be very trying for a family that is pretty normal other than having a 21-year-old multi-millionaire son playing in the NBA.”

“They are the most down-to-earth people you could meet. They’re very humble. Josh is a good kid and knowing the family, I thought there’s something more to this because he’s not like that. The consensus is he’s been royally stitched up,” the source further added.

Case investigators not getting cooperation from underage girl and family

TMZ reportedly sought information about the matter from law enforcement sources, reporting that the underage girl and her family have refused to cooperate with the probe in regards to the alleged relationship with Josh Giddey. It has made the probe very difficult for the officials in regard to securing facts and ensuring that the culprit is brought to justice.

Moreover, Josh Giddey had spoken about the incident when asked about it last week, and said, “I understand the question obviously, but no further comment right now. I get the question guys, I completely understand you want to know about it, but just for right now, I don’t have anything to say.” He still continues to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder while the situation continues to develop.
