After Haryana defeated Rajasthan by 30 runs to win their first-ever Vijay Hazare Trophy in the 2023-24 domestic season, Yuzvendra Chahal reacted to the famous victory with an emotional post on his official X account. The 33-year-old was an integral part of the Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign for Haryana before he left for South Africa to play in the ODI series for India.

The final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023-24, played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot saw the captain of Haryana winning the toss and choosing to bat first against Rajasthan. In their 50 overs, Haryana posted a formidable total of 287/8 with Ankit Kumar (88 off 91) top scoring and Ashok Menaria getting a fifty of his own too, while Aniket Choudhary picked up four wickets.
In the run chase, Rajasthan were in early trouble, losing three of their top four batters cheaply, but then Abhijeet Tomar (106 off 129) and Kunal Singh Rathore stitched together a stand of 121 runs for the fifth wicket. But when Kunal Singh Rathore lost his wicket after scoring a quick-fire 79 runs off 65 balls, the batting lineup of Rajasthan quickly fell away, getting bundled out for 257 off 48 overs with Harshal Patel and Sumit Kumar picking up three wickets each.

After Haryana secured the Vijay Hazare Trophy win for the first time, Yuzvendra Chahal, who had picked 18 wickets in eight matches in the domestic tournament before travelling to South Africa, was quoted as saying on his X account, “CHAMPIONS! Haryana, just love for you.” Moreover, as far as Rajasthan goes, this was their second runners-up finish in the Vijay Hazare Trophy after losing the final for the first time in 2006-07.
