On Sunday, January 28, Kevin Durant became the 10th player in NBA history to cross the milestone number of 28,000 career points. The 35-year-old is in the midst of his 16th year in the NBA career, but despite that, he has been averaging 27.6 points, putting himself in sixth place in the highest points per game scoring leader.

During the 2023-24 NBA season, Kevin Durant is averaging 28.4 points per game, scoring 1,111 points in the 39 games thus far. Notably, KD had 26,892 points in his career going into the ongoing season of the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, playing a key role in the franchise’s 26-20 record in the Western Conference.

Although Kevin Durant achieved a major career milestone on Sunday night at the Kia Center against the Orlando Magic, he couldn’t take the Phoenix Suns to a win away from home. Before going into the all-important fourth quarter, the Suns were leading against the Magic by 85-82, but they gave up their advantage big time before losing with a scoreline of 98-113.

The Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker was the top scorer of the game with 44 points including four rebounds and three assists, while Kevin Durant notched up 15 points, which had four rebounds and five assists. For the Orlando Magic, Paolo Banchero got 26 points with four rebounds and seven assists, helping the home team achieve a vital win to take their season’s record to 22-20 in the NBA Eastern Conference.
