Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC Hall of Famer, has partnered with Palms Sports to open a new gym in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi recently. Ever since the “Khabib Gym” venture has gotten off track with a bang in the past week or so, there have been praises coming the way of the former combat sport athlete and Palms Sports from all over the world.
The 34-year-old Russian, who retired from the UFC on October 24, 2020 with an undefeated record of 29-0, has been collaborating in multiple entrepreneurial ventures for the last couple of years or so. Khabib Nurmagomedov has MMA promotion called Eagle FC under his name. He has opened a restaurant chain named M-Eat, an alkaline water company, and partnered with sports metaverse platform known as Gameplan.
On June 12, the former UFC Lightweight Champion sent out a message about the Khabib Gym and what it means to him. He was quoted as saying, “I am very happy with the first opening Khabib Gym in the world. I am even more happy this happened in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi because this place is very special for me. Abu Dhabi become my second home. I really love this place and thank you so much. I just wanna say thank you so much what palm sports did with this gym, I'm very proud of this thank you so much guys.”
According to reports, the Khabib Gym is a 1,500 square metre facility with a specially built MMA cage, matted space for Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, and a studio for boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. It also boasts exercise, cardio, and cycling facilities, alongside a swimming pool, paddle tennis courts, and more. The globally certified trainers and instructors are going to work with people who avail the membership of the gym.
The Khabib Gym allows visitors to use their world-class amenities from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays.
