On Monday, February 24, star New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra played a crucial 112-run knock to guide New Zealand to a comprehensive five wicket win against Bangladesh in Group A Champions Trophy 2025 clash. After missing the opening match for the Black Caps, which saw them beat defending champions and host Pakistan by 60 runs, Rachin Ravindra made his return to setup a brilliant run-chase.

Coming out to bat after Kane Williamson was dismissed after just scoring five runs off four deliveries, the Kiwi youngster went onto score his fourth ODI hundred, which came off just 11 innings. Batting at 99 in the 35th over, Rachin went for a single to complete his century, which came off 95 deliveries.

Rachin Ravindra now has most hundreds in ICC ODI events in New Zealand

With this, he now has four ODI centuries in ICC events, which is most for any Kiwi player so far. The 25-year-old surpassed the feat previously held by veteran Kiwi batter and former skipper Kane Williamson, who has three ODI centuries in ICC events off 34 innings.

However, in the 39th over of the New Zealand innings, Rachin Ravindra’s stay was cut short as substitute fielder Parvez Hossain Emon completed a catch off Rishad Hossain’s over to dismiss the in-form batter. The 25-year-old could manage to add 112 runs off 105 deliveries with his innings being laced with 12 boundaries and a maximum.
