The Khelo India Youth Games 2023 are underway in Madhya Pradesh. The fifth edition of the event kick started on January 30 will conclude on February 11, 2023. The flagship event is fifth under the Khelo India initiative of the Indian government.

It is to be noted that the KIYG 2021 was postponed thrice and finally took place in 2022 after the COVID-19 hiatus. This ongoing edition is actually the 2022 edition which is being held in 2023.

The KIYG 2023 is hosting record largest contingent of 474 athletes, which is from MP itself. The second largest is that of Haryana, with Tripura having the smallest contingent with only 13 athletes.
