Brazil soccer superstar Neymar Jr. has nearly completed a year with his new Saudi Club Al-Hilal following his stint with Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The 30-year-old arrived at the Ile-de-France club with much amusement and fanfare in 2017 and departed the club after six years in an exactly contrasting manner. One of the employees of PSG summarised the same about Neymar and his last days in the club.
The ultimate focus of the detailed report was targeted on the relationship that Neymar and his then PSG mate Kylian Mbappe possessed and how eventually the bond deteriorated over time. According to L’Equipe, the two had shared a great relationship at the beginning but over the years, it started to sour.
A PSG employee stated, "At first, Kylian Mbappe liked Neymar a lot, but after working with him daily, he lost the respect he had for him. Conversely, both Neymar and Messi were upset that the club had given Kylian the full keys to the truck. Messi, even if he was introverted, he would at least say hello to you.”
The report further added, “Not Neymar. You got the impression he didn’t respect you. He refused to make contact. It’s a shame because, in private, he seems to be nice and generous. Even though he understood French, he didn’t make the effort to speak it.”
The employee also stated the issue where Neymar had treated Vitinha abjectly, however, it didn’t mention the reason for such hostility towards the Portuguese midfielder. “In fact, after two or three very good seasons, Neymar gave me the impression of being completely fed up. Stuffed with football, stuffed with money…he was no longer hungry. He still had the motivation to play with the Seleção but not to go to Brest.”
