Football great Lionel Messi hugged Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham after the club’s Leagues Cup final win. Beckham, a former MLS player could hardly contain joy, after Miami won the trophy on August 19. Though the former English footballer has a record of winning 19 major trophies during his tenure as a footballer, this was his first win after the retirement and turning into the club's ownership.
In a video posted on the official account of Major League Soccer, the Argentina international could be seen embracing the Beckhams, first David, followed by his wife. The game saw Messi scoring his 10th goal for his new side in the last seven games, leading his side to win the trophy by defeating Nashville SC 10-9 on penalties.

Notably, Miami made their MLS debut in 2020, and the final clash against Nashville saw Messi becoming the most decorated player in football history. Not only this, but it was also the 36-year-old’s 44th career trophy.
