On Thursday, August 29, a full-fledged auction of around 200 players took place in Delhi for the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 season. Isuru Udana, the Sri Lankan fast bowler, emerged as player attracting the highest bid of ₹61.9 Lakh at the LLC Auction, joining Urbanrisers Hyderabad for the upcoming season of the tournament.
Notably, the LLC Auction saw ₹39.63 crore spent by six teams, to bolster their respective squads for the third edition of the tournament, which will start from September 20 onwards. Apart from Isuru Udana, some of the top players who got bids during the LLC Auction were Dan Christian, Manoj Tiwary, Dwayne Smith, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Ross Taylor, Ambati Rayudu, Nathan Coulter Nile, and Nuwan Pradeep, among others.
Manipal Tigers, who defeated Urbanrisers Hyderabad in the final of the LLC last year, have retained the services of their captain Harbhajan Singh, aiming to win the title once again. Also, Bhilwara Kings are now a defunct franchise in the LLC, ahead of its 2024 season, getting replaced by Konark Suryas, which will be captained by Irfan Pathan.
