Candice Warner, the wife of David Warner, wrote an emotional post on her official Instagram account after her husband confirmed his retirement from international cricket following the early exit of Australia from the T20 World Cup 2024. The former professional ironwoman congratulated David Warner for “one of the best international cricket careers” before stating that she and the family will miss him playing for Australia.
Notably, David Warner arrived in the USA and the Caribbean after leaving the Test and ODI formats for good in the last six months or so. In the T20 World Cup 2024, he played seven matches, scoring 178 runs at an average of 29.66 and a strike rate of 139.06, with a couple of fifties.
The last innings in the international career of David Warner went down against India at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia. He scored six runs off six balls with Arshdeep Singh getting him nicked off to first slip, where Suryakumar Yadav took a sharp catch.
