Former KKR star Nitish Rana’s wife took a dig at the reigning champions after the batter’s association with the franchise came to an end. Rana, who turned out to be a match winner for the Purple Brigade was released earlier by the franchise. Later during the IPL 2025 mega auction, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the defending champions didn’t bid for the player, thus ending their seven-year association.
The move by the franchise didn’t please Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah and she took to X to take a dig at the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise. Saachi, on X, wrote, “Loyalty is very expensive, not everyone can afford it.” Rana was later purchased by IPL 2008 winners Rajasthan Royals, who paid INR 4.20 Crore to acquire the services of the left-handed batter. Apart from the Jaipur-based franchise, franchises like CSK and RCB also showed interest in him.
