On November 27, 2014, a 25-year-old and aspiring cricketer from Australia Phillip Hughes lost his life two days after getting hit on his neck by a bouncer while batting in a domestic match. While batting on 63* the left-hander suddenly collapsed as soon as Sean Abbott’s bouncer hit the side of head. After that, Hughes was taken into the stretcher and rushed to hospital. 

Phillip Hughes suffered a cerebral haemorrhage after getting hit by a bouncer and had to undergo a surgery. The cricketer never gained consciousness and finally lost battle to death a couple of days after that shocking blow on head. Hughes was about to turn 26 on November 30, just three days after his tragic death. His funeral was held in his hometown, Macksville, on December 3,  and was attended by cricketers from all over the globe along with the Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

Phillip Hughes had an impressive numbers in his young cricket career and was being looked at as the next big thing in Australian cricket. He made his international debut in a Test match against South Africa in Johannesburg on February 26, 2009. After getting out on duck in the first innings, Hughes turned out to be the top score in the second innings with a knock of 75 runs. After four years of his Test debut, Hughes went on to make his ODI debut for Australia in a match against Sri Lanka January 11, 2013. 

Phillip Hughes had a memorable ODI debut where he scored 112(129) runs hitting 14 boundaries. The left-hander has played 26 Tests, 25 ODIs, and one T20I in his short international career scoring 2367 runs in all three formats combined along with five centuries and 11 fifties.
