Former Real Madrid star Marcelo, who now plays for Brazilian side  Fluminense FC, accidentally injured his colleague Luciano Sanchez during  Copa Libertadores clash against  Argentinos Junior on August 1, Tuesday. Recently, new pictures and X-rays of the "season-ending" injury have emerged on social media that showed the extent of the horrific injury.

During Fluminense's clash against Argentinos on Tuesday,  Marcelo accidentally stepped on Luciano's shin  while moving past him.  The impact led the 29-year-old Argentine's leg to twist at an absurd angle, causing a collapse on the pitch. Marcelo was sent off for this challenge as the Brazilian walked out in tears.

On Saturday, new pictures and X-rays of Sanchez's injury emerged on social media showing the extent of his injury, dubbed as the worst ever. One X-ray showed numerous pins on the Argentinos Junior defender's knee to reconstruct it while a picture showed his dislocated knee.
