Luis Diaz, the star footballer from Colombia, who plays for Liverpool, is currently in the midst of an extreme personal trouble, after his parents were kidnapped by gunmen on motorbikes in Barrancas, a municipality in northern La Guajira province of the country, on Saturday, October 28. Sometime later, the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro announced that the mother of Luis Diaz was rescued, while the search for his missing father is still ongoing.

The Director of the National Police in Colombia, William Rene Salmanca confirmed the rescue of Luis Diaz’s mother, Cilenis Marulanda, and he spoke with her too. He also talked about how the National Police is using every agent to find the father of Luis Diaz.
The authorities in Colombia stated that the parents of Luis Diaz were reportedly kidnapped when they drove themselves to their home. A few gunmen, who arrived on motorbikes, stopped them in their tracks, before driving them away on their vehicles.
The Colombian football federation released a statement about the incident, speaking about how the kidnapping of the parents of Luis Diaz was regrettable. They have also urged the authorities to rescue his father.
Luis Diaz is yet to speak publicly about the kidnapping of his parents, but his fans have been very concerned on social media since the unfortunate news broke out. Liverpool are going to play their next match in the Premier League on Sunday, October 29, against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.
