In what comes as a huge development, a major fire has broken outside the Dubai International Cricket Stadium ahead of the Super 4s match between India and Afghanistan at the same venue. Clouds of heavy black smoke are being spotted outside the premises of the stadium one hour before the kickoff.

However, it seemed to have no effect on the game as the Super Fours match between India and Afghanistan was successfully held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India won the match by 101 runs as Virat Kohli scored his maiden T20I century. The star batter scored an unbeaten 122 off just 61 balls to power India to a mammoth 212/2.

Kohli who came to open the innings for India alongside KL Rahul first reached his half-century in 32 balls. He then put his foot on the paddle and raced to his first-ever ton in T20 internationals in 53 balls. Notably, with this knock, Kohli also ended the century drought as he notched up his 71st international ton after 1020 days.

KL Rahul also played a really good knock of 62 off 41 balls before perishing to Fareed Ahmad. Rishabh Pant also chipped in with a handy 20* off 16 balls. When it came to defending the total, India restricted Afghanistan to 111/8 to register an emphatic win.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star for India with the ball as he took five wickets at the expense of only four runs in his four overs. The pacer took the first four wickets of Afghanistan within the first six overs itself and completely derailed the chase. Arshdeep Singh and R Ashwin also got a wicket each.
