After agreeing to buy back the rights to the sponsorship in a “mutual” decision with German-based software firm TeamViewer in December, Manchester United have announced a new shirt sponsor from the start of the 2024-25 season. The Red Devils and TeamViewer decided to end their five-year deal worth £47 million per year deal, which was signed in 2021.
Manchester United announced American technology company Snapdragon as their new shirt sponsor on Tuesday and the tech firm will take over from the next season. According to BBC reporter Simon Stone, "United believe this will be the largest ‘front-of-shirt partnership’ in world football. The figure is believed to be in excess of £60m a year."
Reportedly, the shareholder put extreme pressure on TeamViewer to end the deal as Petrus Advisers, who have a 3 per cent stake in TeamViewer, wrote a letter demanding to " stop bleeding millions " and disengage from the deal. The letter read, " We demand that you stop bleeding millions and rapidly disengage from this mess. We therefore demand that you enter professional exit discussions with a clear goal of a quick solution and that you do it immediately."

According to a report by Business Wire, "Qualcomm Technologies is already a global partner of Manchester United, promoting its Snapdragon brand. Snapdragon processors power premium products from the world's biggest brands across smartphones, PCs, extended reality glasses, gaming devices, wearables, and connected cars.
"Under the expanded agreement, Snapdragon will become Manchester United’s front-of-shirt partner from the start of the 2024/25 season. Featuring on the home, away, and third kits of the men’s and women’s teams."
